“The protest in Abuja, Kano, Kaduna, Kastina and other states which turned violent serves as a poignant reminder of the fragility of civil discourse amid widespread discontent, I was shocked to learn that some youths reportedly descended on public and private properties looting them with reckless abandon. This level of violence depicted a sharp deviation from the intended purpose of the demonstration which should always aim to express dissent peacefully and constructively”.
