Group Partners NGO To Promote Inclusive Farming In Bauchi
The Bauchi State Association of Deaf (BSAD) has collaborated with the Women Farming Association of Nigeria (WOFAN) to promote inclusive farming for the Deaf community in Bauchi state.
KATAGUM DAILYPOST gather that this development will provide a helping hands to the Deaf community by giving them ample opportunities to maximize many benefits and make farming activities more accessible and affordable to all Deaf people both males and females across the state.
WOFAN as a non-governmental Organizations is committed to providing support and soft loan with farming materials to interested farmers in Bauchi state, but persons with disabilities enjoy free renumeration of such benefits which make it more accessible and affordable for the deaf people both male and female to be fully included in the WOFAN incisive farming programme
The NGO as part of its resolve to make service more inclusive to the Deaf, the Women Farming Association of Nigeria (WOFAN) has earlier appointed six members of Bauchi State Association of the Deaf (BSAD) into their executive council including a sign language Interpreter Saleh Adamu who serves as Secretary General of the executive council.
Other BSAD members appointed in the WOFAN executive council are Fatima Musa as President, Safiyanu Mohammed Sahu as Vice President, Hauwa Adamu as treasurer, Blessing Nuhu as financial Secretary and Auwal Muhammad Darazo who serves as the Public Relation Officer (PRO) respectively.
The myriads of benefits that members of BSAD may obtained from this partnership is not only limited to alleviating financial constraints but also to allow Deaf community to focus more on their businesses while benefiting from venturing into farming for optimum economic growth targeted at achieving self reliance.
Reacting to the development, the leadership of Bauchi state Association of the Deaf (BSAD) encouraged all the Deaf people across the 20 LGAs in the state to seize this opportunity and ensure massive participation of members in the programme, stressing that more benefits are coming soon.
While extending its sincere congratulations to the newly appointed Executive of WOFAN, the BSAD leadership urged them to discharge their duties with diligence, integrity and focus on the overall well-being of the deaf citizens of the state.
