Bauchi State Ministry of Education has received a major facelift, thanks to the transformative efforts of We Care Foundation, led by the State Commissioner for Education, Dr. Jamila Mohamed Dahiru. The nonprofit organization spearheaded a series of impactful renovations and upgrades aimed at improving the ministry’s facilities and work environment.
In a remarkable display of commitment, Dr. Dahiru forfeited her salary and allowances to channel funds back into the ministry and the state government. Under her guidance, We Care Foundation renovated and furnished key offices, including the Commissioner’s office, the confidential secretary’s office, and a newly created workspace for the Commissioner’s personal assistant. The project also included landscaping enhancements, the installation of a security barricade around the premises, and the erection of a modern, attractive signboard for the ministry.
The completion of the project was officially marked on November 14, 2024, when Alhaji Saad Mohamed Dahiru, co-founder of We Care Foundation, handed over the renovation notes to the Ministry of Education. Receiving the documents on behalf of the ministry, Permanent Secretary Alhaji Ali Babayo commended Dr. Dahiru for her outstanding generosity and dedication to improving the ministry’s working environment.
“This initiative will not only benefit ministry staff but also sets a new standard for leadership and community service,” Babayo remarked. He praised the high quality of the work and emphasized the lasting impact of these improvements on the state’s education sector.
The initiative has been widely lauded as a milestone achievement, reflecting the Commissioner’s vision to enhance educational standards and create a conducive atmosphere for effective governance.
The Bauchi State Government and the Ministry of Education expressed profound gratitude for the foundation’s efforts, recognizing the renovation as a significant contribution to the development of education in the state.
