Emir of Borno Commends QATFoundation’s Impactful Flood Relief Efforts in Maiduguri
In a powerful gesture of gratitude, His Royal Highness, Alhaji (Dr.) Abubakar Ibn Umar Garbai Al-Amin El-Kanemi, CFR, FNSE, the Shehu of Borno, has expressed deep appreciation for the humanitarian efforts of Dr. Halimat Adenike Tejuosho and the Queen Adenike Tejuosho Foundation.
In a letter dated October 23, 2024, the Emir commended the foundation for its compassion and swift support to the people of Maiduguri, who faced severe hardship following recent floods.
The letter, titled “Letter of Appreciation During Our Flood Disaster,” was directed to Dr. Tejuosho, founder of the Queen Adenike Tejuosho Foundation, and acknowledged the foundation’s significant contributions.
His Royal Highness conveyed the gratitude of the Borno Emirate Council and the entire community, highlighting the impact of the foundation’s relief efforts.
“I wish, on behalf of myself, the Borno Emirate Council, and the entire people of my Emirate, to extend our most sincere appreciation to you for your visit to sympathize with us during our trying moments and for your kind support and contributions,” the letter stated.
The Emir praised the foundation’s generosity and swift action in providing essential supplies, including food and shelter, which gave hope to families affected by the floods.
He noted that these contributions provided a tangible difference for residents during a difficult period, allowing the community to begin the process of recovery and rebuilding.
The letter concluded with a commendation of the foundation’s mission, describing it as a “true testament to human resilience and compassion.”
