Bauchi Gov’t to Employ 10,000 Workers by Year-End, Says Gov Bala
The Bauchi State Government, led by Governor Senator Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir, has announced plans to employ an additional 10,000 workers by the end of 2024.
This major workforce expansion was disclosed during the first edition of the Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed Colloquium, themed “Celebrating the Architect of Modern Bauchi at 66,” held on Saturday in Bauchi.
Governor Bala Mohammed emphasized the significance of this initiative, highlighting his administration’s commitment to tackling unemployment and reinforcing key sectors across the state.
He underscored the need for more agricultural extension workers, who will be instrumental in supporting local farmers, increasing income levels, and bolstering food security across Bauchi State.
In a significant push towards youth empowerment, the governor revealed plans to introduce 10,000 young people to modern technology and provide them with ICT training aimed at fostering self-reliance and equipping them with critical digital skills.
Addressing sectoral gaps, Governor Mohammed acknowledged the shortage of qualified professionals, particularly teachers in schools, nurses in healthcare facilities, and experts in the agricultural sector.
He assured that his administration is poised to bridge these gaps, thereby improving service delivery and fostering growth in essential services.
Beyond workforce expansion, the governor outlined several key achievements his administration has realized in infrastructure, road projects, and the education sector.
These accomplishments, he noted, are crucial to the progress of Bauchi State and are in line with his vision of modernization and sustainable development.
The announcement marks a significant step towards economic development in Bauchi, underscoring the state government’s dedication to improving the livelihoods of its residents and advancing the state’s infrastructure and human resources.
