Nigeria@64: Bauchi Speaker Appeals Citizens To Pray For The Country

As the country marks 64 years of Independence from British Colonial Masters, the Speaker, Bauchi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Dr. Abubakar Y. Suleiman (Ɗangaladiman Ningi) called for continous prayers for the country. The Speaker emphasized the need for countrymen irrespective of regions, tribes or faiths to be checkmating Governments’ policies and programs, reminding leaders of their promises and correcting them where they go wrong.

“Our beloved Nigeria is indeed is passing through economic hardship, that should never be an excuse for citizens to be quite while they keep suffering. The demands and cries of ordinary citizens that struggle on daily basis to feed their families must be heard and resolved. They have high hopes that one-day all challenges hindering the country’s progress will become history, they deserved to enjoy their fundamental rights to freedom of expression regarding how things are done”. The Speaker pleaded.

He maintained that “praying for the country to transform is a good initiative, such should be accompanied with calling erring leaders at all levels to order. One of the forefront elites who prefer to let the truth prevail than to be taciturn is His Excellency, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed (Ƙauran Bauchi). He has been active in cautioning, guiding and revealing the truth concerning difficulties in the land, his bold move need to be reciprocated by other leaders”.

Rt. Hon. Abubakar further reiterated that “Today is dedicated to celebrate and appreciate patriotic fallen heroes for their physical fights, verbal demands, written submissions and life sacrifices untill the land become free from foreign dominance. Therefore, to forge for national unity as citizens and leader, let us all be responsible by bringing positive impacts because our current actions or inactions determine the future. The divergences amongst us are destined by God, we must tolerate one another and work together for peace and developments to reign”.

In conclusion, Rt. Suleiman* solicited on merging forces, combining ideas and pulling resources toward the progress of Bauchi State and Nigeria as a whole. He believed that welfarism of people in the areas of health, education, agriculture, security, infrastructures and other sectors are pivotal in making the Nigeria a better place for citizens and foreigners. He finally prayed for the country to be out of all current hardships and normalcy to return in all regions.
