Nasarawa Stampede: Tinubu’s Aide visits victims, donates cash, others
Pays glowing Tribute to deceased Nasarawa Students.
The Senior Special Assistant to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR on Students Engagement, Honourable Comrade Sunday Dayo Asefon has in a show of leadership and compassion paid a visit to Nasarawa State University Keffi to commiserate with the victims of palliative stamped who are recuperating at the Federal Medical Center Keffi.
The President Aide, Honourable Comrade Asefon was received by the Personal Assistant to the Executive Governor of Nasarawa State on Students matters, The Nasarawa State University Chairman of the Academic Staff Union of Universities, (ASUU), The Zonal Coordinator, National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS Zone C), The Student Union President, Nasarawa State University, his Executive Members, and other national stakeholders of National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS).
Accompanied by the University Stakeholders, Hon. Asefon visited Federal Medical Center Keffi where he meet four persons who sustained different degrees of injuries and are receiving medical care at the facility.
He was informed that the unfortunate incident occurred while students of the institutions were scampering for the palliative donated by the State Government, two students of the Institution lost their lives while 20 others sustained various degrees of injury, four among them are recuperating while the remaining 16 persons have been discharged after receiving treatment at the Federal Medical Centre.
Hon. Asefon who at first received the heartbreaking news of the stamped in Nasarawa while he was on official duty in Bauchi State on Friday bemoaned his inability to visit the Victims immediately, however, Upon his return to Abuja on Saturday, he made it a point of duty to visit the students on Sunday.
He conveyed the heartfelt sympathy of His Excellency President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR to the recuperating victims, and further reiterated his intention to visit the families of the deceased Students. He further donated an undisclosed amount of cash and beverages to those still in the hospital facility.
He also offered prayers to God to grant the four victims speedy recovery and equally prayed for the repose of the soul of the deceased students who lost their lives to the unfortunate incident.
