Gov Bala Launches Strategic Committee to Tackle Bauchi Food Insecurity

In a bold move to address the rising challenge of food insecurity and soaring grain prices, Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Mohammed, has inaugurated a new Strategic Grains Reserve Committee.

This initiative is a significant step by the administration to provide relief to citizens grappling with high food costs, while ensuring a stable food supply amid unpredictable weather patterns affecting agriculture.

During the inauguration ceremony, Governor Mohammed reaffirmed his commitment to tackling hunger across Bauchi State. “We cannot sit by while people struggle to afford basic food items,” he stated.

The Strategic Grains Reserve Committee will operate with a dual focus. First, it will purchase and store a portion of grains from local farmers, creating a backup supply of essential food items.
