Bauchi gov’t renames BASUG to SAZUG
The Bauchi State government has renamed the state-owned university, Bauchi State University Gadau, to Sa’adu Zungur University, Gadau.
This was part of six other bills signed into law by Governor Bala Muhammed, on Monday.
Other bills assented to by the governor were the law to repeal Bauchi State Primary Healthcare Development Agency 2012 to enact Bauchi State Primary Healthcare Board; a law to provide for the establishment of Bauchi State Farmers Herders Board; a law to provide for the establishment of Bauchi State Rural Access Road Authority, RARA 2024 and a law to promote Children Access to Education in Bauchi state.
Speaking during the signing of the bills into law, at the Government House Council Chamber, Governor Muhammed expressed joy that the development would have a direct impact on the lives of the citizens.
“I have to commend the state House of Assembly for studying the details of the bills before passing them for assent. This showed the cordial relationship between the legislature and the executive arms of government,” the governor maintained.
Earlier, the Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Abubakar Y. Suleiman, said all the laws, if properly implemented, would have a direct bearing on the lives of the people.
He called on the people to continue to support the present administration, adding that the infrastructure and other developments recorded in the state were the product of cordial relationship and cooperation between the legislature and the executive arm of government.
