FUHS Azare holds 5-days free medical outreach

The Federal University of Health Sciences Azare (FUHSA Azare) has commences it’s 5 days free medical outreach in Azare where it reiterated its commitment to supporting healthy living conditions for all.

At the first day event held at Urban Maternity, Kofar Fada Azare, not less than 250 people benefited from the free services, dental care, diabetes, hypertension and cervical cancer screening.

The Vice-chancellor, Federal University of Health Sciences Azare Prof. Bala M. Audu stated that the university quarterly project of attending to the medical challenge of communities is sacrosanct and would be sustained throughout his tenure.

According to him “The medical outreach was in fulfillment of his dream, vision and aspiration to take care of vulnerable persons and the less privileged.

He also said “We are attending to everyone present, we are targeting widows, sickle cell patients and the down trodden.

“We are offering them general body check, which includes: blood pressure, blood sugar, malaria test, and eye checkup.

“You can see that we have a team of experts available to attend to as many patients as possible. We also have sufficient drugs to give to those who will be needing it.

“There are also free glasses to be given to those who are 40 years and above that need them. We have also made adequate arrangements for referral if the need arises,” he said.
