Gadi Care changes the narration of out-of-school children in Bauchi

Gadi care foundation being a charity organization established with the primary goal of improving the situation of the orphans and less-privileged members of community especially the children and women works to change the narration of Bauchi state’s status of having highest number of out-of-school children.

The foundation runs different community development programs but recently put more emphasis on child school enrollment to salvage the further escalation of the level of illiteracy in the state as the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) submitted this year that Bauchi State has 1,239,759 out-of-school children which put the state in a position of being a state with highest population of the out-of-school children in Nigeria.

The foundation’s chief executive officer Haj. Fatima Mohammed Garba expressed dissamay over the increasing rate of out-of-school children this Sunday while speaking at the occasion of enrolling 200 boys and girls into several primary schools in Azare and pledged to strive to enroll more childrens into schools to save the society from increment of social vices as it relates to ignorance.

Haj. Fatima Further explained that parents and general members of societies shouldn’t restrict the relevance of education to being a source of livelihood alone but an instrument of completely changing human life.

During the program, there was distribution of school uniforms, Bags filled with books and even cash grants to both the newly enrolled pupils and those who abandoned going to schools for not having uniforms, non payment of school fees and other relevant issues.

The beneficiaries were barely seen smiling and the program got the attendance of religious scholars, teachers, parents, educational elites, Representatives of government agencies particularly related to education as well as the Representative of his royal highness the emir of Katagum and the local government’s deputy chairman.

The program was carried-out in the COEASU Secretariat of Aminu Saleh college of education and there were interesting speeches on educating people.
