Salihu made this call while leading a debate on the motion at the state assembly on Thursday.

He said the project was stopped and left at deplorable condition which caused hardship especially during raining season.

According to him, completion of the uncompleted road which passed across more than 30 urban areas from Kurba in Giade Local Government to Basirka of Jigawa State will promote economic activities in the area because of how the road serves as a linkage for economic activities of Giade Local Government Area in which 75% of revenue of is drived from the areas.

He also explained that the completion of the project will reduce road crashes and improve traffic flow thereby reducing general road accidents caused by the dilapidated condition of the road.

He also urged the honourable house to mandate its house committee on Works to interface with the State Ministry of Works and other relevant stakeholders to determine why the road project was stopped for long period of time and request the State Government under the able leadership of Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed to hasten the completion of the ongoing road project.

In his contribution, Hon. Nasiru Ahmed Ala (Chinade/Madara Constituency) said that as lawmakers, they represent their mass populations, therefore draws the attention of government to complete the road especially because of the fact that Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed is so committed to the insfrustructural development of the state.

He remembered the house that the Governor has completed many abandoned and uncompleted projects inherited from the previous administrations especially in Katagum Local Government, thus plead to the Governor to kindly look into the request of the people of Giade.

Hon. Musa Wakili Nakwada (Bogoro Constituency) said Basirka is in Jigawa State, therefore completion of the project is very important because it will create a good relationship between Bauchi State and Jigawa State.
